Colleen’s entrance into long-term care was dramatic. The son of a man she had taken care of for years, got her into a car, drove her to a nursing college and told her he wouldn’t give her a ride back home unless she registered. He was that impressed with her care for his father. He thought, she just has to be a nurse.

Colleen has worked in geriatric care her whole life,

“I lived with my great-grandfather and loved him tons. Even after he had passed, I made it a point to visit all the elders in the neighborhood. I just love elders, their stories and way of being.”

As BRC’s Director of Nursing, Colleen loves “getting to know the residents, hearing their stories, and making sure they are the best they can be each and every day.”

Colleen has a daugher, Samantha and a younger son, Curtis, and one grandson, Damin, who lives in New York. She also has a cat, Roady, which she found in the road, and which is good company for her and another troublesome kitty, Stash. For fun, Colleen loves to read mysteries mixed with humor, a la James Patterson.
